I am pleased to announce that Jonathan Stewart has been appointed to the position of Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Jonathan has worked alongside me during the past few months, thereby enabling me to confidently hand over this role and focus on my duties as CEO. Jonathan began his career in the financial markets in 1996 at Sanlam Investment Management, after a brief stint at the IDC. In 1998 he co-founded Gryphon Asset Management where he worked as Head of the Fixed Income Team and was also a member of the Investment Strategy Team. Jonathan then joined Franklin Templeton NIB Investments in 2001 as Head of their Fixed Interest Team. He joined RMB Asset Management to Head up the Fixed Interest Team in January 2003 and was subsequently appointed to the position of Strategist a year ago. Jonathan’s qualifications (MCom Economics and CFA)and skills set in macro economic analysis and the fixed interest markets, together with management experience make him ideally suited to take on responsibility for overseeing the investment team.
